Hi there! My name is Mike. I started this blog as a means to help share ideas or products that could help you with your motivation for running. The “so I can” part to me is really the motivation of why we lace up those shoes and head out for a run. Depending where you are in your journey, the reason for running could vary by day, week, or year.
I am not an ultra marathon running or really certified to be a running trainer by any means. I am just a normal dad of two boys that likes to run. And before I was a dad, I was just a normal guy that liked to run. I started running in 2010. A co-worker invited me to run to run a six mile race in downtown Chicago to support Susan G Komen and the cure for cancer. My co-worker was a cancer survivor. I decided to run my first race for a cause and I became hooked. I don’t think I owned running shoes at the time and I was probably wearing basketball shorts and a t-shirt. I was hooked because I was running for something bigger by supporting a cure for cancer and finishing a distance I’ve never run before.
Since 2010, I have run 10+ marathons, dozens of 5Ks, and a few half marathons. As a dad now, I still try to get 15 miles in per week. My days of racing are limited for now, but I keep running because it keeps me fit, both mentally and physically. My motivation is to share ideas and products that could be helpful to make your experience more enjoyable. I will even explore product ideas I can’t find and share them with you here. I am not a doctor, so please consult your doctor accordingly before starting any journey with running. These are just my observations and opinions, so take them for what it’s worth. I hope it helps you achieve whatever the “so I can” in your life is at the time you lace up and head out.
